General Guidance on Exploring Service Opportunities

Doctrine and Covenants Section 58:27-28 instructs us to be "anxiously engaged in a good cause" and do many things of our own free will, "and bring to pass much righteousness." The passage further explains that the power is in us wherein we are agents unto ourselves, and that inasmuch as we do good we shall in nowise lose our reward (verse 28 paraphrased).
Sources for Learning More About Service Opportunities
- First check Holladay North Stake's "Critical Needs" for Senior Missionary Service. These critical needs come from the Cannery at Welfare Square and from the Holladay Coordinating Council of Stakes.
- After checking the "Critical Needs" list, you might also pursue other opportunities for Senior Missionary Service by reviewing a catalog of opportunities provided by the church (see below for a listing of the opportunities presented). As you browse the catalog of opportunities, the website will invite you to log in to view opportunities close to where you live.
